He had his desktop folder located in his home share on the old server \\server01\users\user_name\home\desktop because home shares didnt take up much space on the server we left the home shares but we renamed the server (server01 to server02), and gave the new NAS the old server name (server01) due to many apps/links/coding that is used using the original server name. So now when he logs on, his desktop hangs and errors out "could not locate \\server01\users\user_name\home\desktop " which makes sense because the path "\\server01\users\user_name\home\desktop" doesn't exist anymore and the real location is now "\\server02\users\user_name\home\desktop" I went to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders changed the desktop folder to value to the new servername , but it still gives that error. I ran gpresult just to make sure it wasnt coming from domain GPO's and also opened up gpedit locally and there are no settings configured. I'm pretty stumped on this one
