We use them rather heavily. From time to time we do have inexplicable errors.
Usually if there are 5 or more apps, or the same app over and over. CU4 was
supposed to help address this. We have a few labs that have 20-30 apps that we
will be doing again soon so it’ll be interesting to see if CU4 really does make
a difference.

I have not had issues using applications in task sequences. However, I have
really shortened my list of what gets installed during the task sequence.
Since things like Flash and Java update so frequently I rely on deployments to
install most of the software. That way I do not have to edit a bunch of task
sequences when ever a new Flash update comes out.

Henry, it’s not exactly an answer to your question, but I put together a list

They are much better since CU4. I use applications almost exclusively and have
not had problems.

From what I’ve seen task sequences don’t like applications in general. I use

Subject: [mssms] Question from the Ignite Conference

Hello
I vaguely remember hearing that CM2012 will have difficulty
installing/provisioning “Applications” (in task sequences) in Windows 10 as
well as Office 365 indicating Task Sequences have issues reading the rules
associated with those Applications. As I remember they indicated this will NOT
be fixed until ConfigMgr 2016 is released.

Can anyone corroborate or provide additional information about this?
Thanks
