We found the problem - an admin had removed "Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010" from the WSUS Products list since we're now on version "2012". I don't see any errors in logs related to obtaining updates. wsyncmgr.log shows the deletion of orphaned contents for definition updates but that's all for SCEP.
