Note that using nslookup is not a proper way to test name resolution on a
system. Nslookup queries a nameserver directly, this is not the same as a
client performing name resolution. Querying a nameserver is often part of the
process, but is not the entire process as it does not account for dns suffix
search order, alternate DNS suffixes, NETBIOS name reolsution, and locally
cached results among other things.

The best way to test name resolution is good ‘ol ping.

Yes, nslookup resolves correctly for both FQDN and IP.

Sounds like an issue with naming resolution to me. Could you do an nslookup
against that FQDN or IP and see what you get back?

Subject: [mssms] MP test url does not work with FQDN

Hi,
Has anyone seen this before where MP test url does not work if FQDN is used?
Works fine if only server name is used (without FQDN). Any idea/clue?

http://Servername/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist = works.

http://Servername.domain.com/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist = does not work.
