I just did this yesterday and had similar issues with my Management Point.  It 
complained about not being able to read from the registry and that there was an 
Internal Server Error, 500 not responding to HTTP requests.  I also had NO 
components in the component status screen.  I spent an hour trying to get 
things back working, it looked like all of the components didn’t reinstall 
during setup or after.  after an hour all of the components started 
reinstalling themselves and this morning the only thing I’ve got lingering is 
object replication errors failing some sql delete queries.

Even though the wizard finishes, it is still doing stuff in the background and 
doesn't complete until it says so in the log.  That being said, I had to 
reinstall my MP after the update to fix similar issues.
