You can right click on "Task Sequences" in the software library section of SCCM, and choose "Create Task Sequence Media". One of the options from the wizard is to create Prestaged media. The wim file created will contain windows PE and the OS to be deployed, but not the actual task sequence. After applying the wim to a drive, the computer will boot to winpe and reach out to a management server over the network to get the Task Sequence, which it uses to install the OS etc.
