You will end up having to contact Microsoft to purchase an (incredibly expensive) custom support agreement. As part of that agreement, you will be required to commit to a plan to get off of that platform. If the business area is not willing to pay for the custom agreement, and they are not willing to pay for fixing the incompatibility, then unfortunately they need to be out of luck on this and the app should be retired.
