This is correct. The primary site server always maintains a “master” copy of
all content for the site in its own contentlib. This cannot be changed and is
part of the SIS mechanism.

Hi,

From what I remember there needs to be a contentlib on your primary even if
there is no dp role on it.

I currently have all the roles on one server. I want to move the DP and a
couple other rolls to another server. This new server also houses all the
content (drivers, images, apps, updates…..). I moved everything, resetup
permissions and shares, and changed the locations in SCCM console. Everything
works fine! YAY! I go to remove the old hard drive from the first server that
had all the content and after I move it to offline, SCCM starts flipping out.
I spent a day trying to figure out what was wrong and turns out the
SCCMContentLib on the old server is still needed? I have one on the new server
as well. Is there a way to move this to exclusively the new server?
