I use 'move' for the sole purpose of avoiding drag and drop mistakes, such as lifting my mouse button over the wrong container, and not due to any technical difference between the two methods.

Long ago, I was told that best practice when moving objects was to right click and select "Move" rather than utilizing drag & drop.
