Subject: [mssms] New SCCM 2012 Install

This may sound like a silly question and I have researched but still have
questions / confusion.

We are on SCCM 2007 and plan to install and move to SCCM 2012 in the next month
or so. I am trying to understand what binaries and updates I need to download /
install and in what order. I will be the first to admit that I have not kept
up with the 2012 updates/SP’s etc..as we are on 2007 and it did not pertain to
us.

What is the major differences between 2012 SP2 & 2012 R2 SP1 ?

Can either version be upgraded to the next release when it becomes available or
should I plan for that now?

I believe that I want to end up with SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 – Is this the latest
and greatest?

Can anyone lay out the actual install steps for someone coming from scratch? We
do own EA/SA on our software.

Thanks in advance and sorry for what may seem to be very naïve questions.

Carl
