Thanks. I’ve deleted the deployment.

Subject: RE: [mssms] mssms: Application deploying to incorrect collection

I had that happen one time with a dynamic collection looking for a version of
an exe to be < say 9 to target an upgrade, then came version 10 ☺ and the old
deployment went active.

· First thing is to disable the deployment

· Second, check all the deployments for that package

· See what collection the computer(s) are in that may be targeted

· Check the query definition for the collection(s) in question

· Check the limiting collection definitions

· Forward if u want us to check the logic

Right click on a device that is having this problem and go to the properties.
Check and see if the deployment is listed there in the properties on the
device. Make sure you are using an account that can see all systems or you
might miss something.

Also, go to the application and verify it was only deployed once.

You can also check the relationships of the application and make sure it is not
being deployed as a dependency to another application.

I have an application that is just a batch file deleting shortcuts that was
deployed to a specific group back in July. 2 days ago it started top pop up on
everyone’s pc that is was a required installation that was past due. Neither
the deployment nor collection has changed and the last modified date is still
in July.

Other than deleting this, how do I fix it? There are a few 0 kb files in
inboxes\offermgr.box. In a few versions back, removing these fixed the issue,
just not sure why they got created and didn’t know if that carried forward to
sccm 2012. This is the first time this has happened in 2 years on this
installation.

Server is Windows 2008 R2 with SCCM 2012 R2 SP2

Thanks.
