We switched to Fortinet a couple of years ago in front of our data center
and have had good luck with it. It seems to handle things like RPC dynamic
ports better than the previous solution. (Either that or it's easier to set
up and the Security folks got it right.)

Our campus has gone with Fortinet because of the distributed delegated
management possible with it via virtual firewalls... However we're just
starting to roll it out and I haven't had an opportunity as a user to
actually use one yet. I remember Palo Alto was in the running but wasn't (at
the time anyway) able to delegate the way we needed for lots of independent
units.
