Daniel, Thank you! Thank you!
I can't believe it was something so simple. We made it complicated ourselves but you mentioned targeted collection and when I went to verify it turns out these servers were not in the collection because the Query looks for particular computer names and these are new names, so I needed to add the new server names, and Voila!! To be honest I think this bit me a few years ago. Since we don't use Groups in AD, I have to query based on the beginning letters of the server names, and when we get a new site I have to add them to this query, and I didn't. Verify they are in the targeted collection, would be the first step. I confirmed that other servers with SP1 (in other locations) work fine for getting updates. I have to manually install these updates myself by click on the "Check online for updates" link. The machines are "up to date" when I install those updates. I just can't seem to figure out where it is failing to actually get the updates to install. As I type this I notice that the SCCM client is not up to date. I see ccm framework 5.00.7958.1000 and not 5.00.7958.1203 as the others.... Seems like a silly question but not having the up to date client in my infrastructure have any effect on not getting windows updates? Do those 2008 R2 servers have the latest service pack installed? Because most, if not all of the updates in the last year or more have required SP2. Windows Update will evaluate and find nothing to install because the system actually doesn't meet the requirements of any of the patches... it's how you can get an update compliant system in SCCM that last installed updates in august of 2014. The servers are 2008 R2. The DP is a Server 2012 and it gets the updates without issues. When I look at WUAHandler.log on the 2008 R2 servers I just see the following over and over: Its a WSUS Update Source type ({FCBF917E-15D8-4B74-99F7-2478A740373B}), adding it. WUAHandler 12/14/2015 6:34:01 AM 492 (0x01EC) Existing WUA Managed server was already set (http://SERVER:8530), skipping Group Policy registration. WUAHandler 12/14/2015 6:34:02 AM 492 (0x01EC) Search Criteria is (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Driver') WUAHandler 12/14/2015 6:34:02 AM 492 (0x01EC) Async searching of updates using WUAgent started. WUAHandler 12/14/2015 6:34:02 AM 492 (0x01EC) Async searching completed. WUAHandler 12/14/2015 6:38:46 AM 464 (0x01D0) Successfully completed scan. WUAHandler 12/14/2015 6:38:50 AM 3404 (0x0D4C) On the DP (Server 2012) it has the same thing, but then shows the updates afterwards. It looks like it has never worked either since it was implemented early last year. Any ideas how I can get my servers to get windows updates from the DP?
