Windows 2008 STD server, 32bit, running Sharepoint 2007.
I can't get ANY VSS writers to show up, at all, period.
2 errors in the event log
Event ID 34: Volume Shadow Copy Service error: The VSS event
class is not registered. This will prevent any VSS writers from receiving
events. This may be caused due to a setup failure or as a result of an
application's installer or uninstaller.
Event ID 8193 Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected
error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040154.
Operation:
Gathering Writer Data
Executing Asynchronous Operation
Context:
Execution Context: Requestor
Current State: GatherWriterMetadata
I've tried reregistering the DLL multiple times, no joy.
I keep running into KB 2009533 that refers to an incorrect registry path for
the eventcls.dll. I've verified this a gazillion times and that doesn't seem
to be the issue.
Registry permissions seem to all be in order, at least when comparing to a
working machine.
Anybody have any bright ideas?
Thanks all
