you've probably already checked this... on that target DP; in either the local
Admins group or in the what's-it-called... sitetosite<something something>
local group; is the machine account of your Primary server listed?  i.e., the
primary site server's machine account needs to be able to communicate with WMI
on the DP; and if it's lost rights to do that, that could explain it.
You could also go look at WMI management; double-check permissions on that
namespace.
other thoughts:  someone change a firewall rules between the 2 servers?  router
config changes?  DNS messed up so the primary thinks the dp is on IP address
10.10.10.10 when it's really 10.10.10.11 ?

nothing extraordinary to be seen. After some research people seem to be
suggesting using mofcomp.exe smsdpprov.mof however this applies to new DP
installs. I’ve checked and root\sccmdp exists on the server.    Daniel.

Out of the blue, overnight one of our DPs seems to be no longer working. Any

Failed to get usable drives for DP. Cannot find or create the package share.
Note: I’ve obfuscated the server name with x’s.   Initially I thought it was
due to the server’s uptime so  I rebooted it but the issue remains. Does anyone
have any ideas?   Daniel.
