This is correct; however, note that even with SP2/R2 SP1, you won’t have full Win10 CBB management capabilities because you won’t be able to deploy service branches (and it’s not technically supported to manage CBB either).

I have full intention of moving to CM Current Branch in the near future but I’ve been asked by management to determine the capabilities of our current CM site to deploy and manage Win10. Reviewing this https://www.systemcenterdudes.com/managing-windows-10-with-sccm-2012/ it seems I’d need to be on at least R2 SP1/SP2. So I’m thinking I’ll have no capability to deploy nor manage Win10 using 2012 SP1, but I was just after some confirmation. Regarding software updates, my understanding is I’d be limited to deploying Win10 cumulative and security updates only. Upgrades require WSUS 4.0 + hotfix and CM 1511. I guess if I can’t deploy or manage Win10 in the first place software updates isn’t really a concern.
