So I got in and I do not see any errors.

Not sure what I am looking for, but it seems the last entry is it was executing
the DJOIN.exe specialize

Try and see if I can grab the actual log.

Some notes at this point:

1. The OS is still on the “D:” drive

2. Even though the task sequence had stated it was installing ConfigMgr it
is not installed

settings"

Get it to fail again and then get back to a command line. Run "dir /s
setupact.*" from the root of the drive to search for the files. You may also
need to look in the panther directory, which you can also find by using the
search command.

Changed my life, finding dir /s

Looks like I spoke to soon. Only 2 worked. I am still back to the imaging being
“stuck” on “Setup is applying system settings

There is no setupact.log that I can find.

Since I cannot do anything to get into the system, the only way to look at the
logs is by shutting it down, PXE boot into the machine, then do F8 and look at
the logs.

I have deleted and reimported all the drivers (Dell Cabs) and still no go.

After I upgraded our site to CM 1511 I seem to have some serious issues imaging
a Dell E6540.

Other models look to have no issues, but this one model (straight out of the
box) just hangs on that message.
Yesterday after 6 hours of being on that screen I gave up.

After I shut down the machine, and pxe booted back into WinPE I used cmtrace
to get to the smsts.log still on the c drive.

I do see that it downloaded the configuration manager client package, and that
it completed the action (Setup Windows and ConfigMgr)
Then it looks like it reboots and that is all. No errors or anything.

Not sure if anyone else has run into this before. Our systems are installing
Win7 x64.

Before the upgrade, we had no issues with these models.
