If it is just a single model.. then logic would imply it is almost certainly driver related.
Have you got the main/recent .Net frameworks installed either in your image or during/before it crashes in the task sequence? We are using windows 7 x64 deployment in CM1511. Before the upgrade it worked without issues, since the upgrade we get stuck on that one screen. The strange part is that sometimes if they kill the deployment and start over it works. But it is so random it is hard to pinpoint. So far the machine I have at my desk does it consistently. This TS is used by 6 other Dell models, and we have no issues. If In-Place Upgrade, how about doing a compatibility scan first (setup.exe /Compat ScanOnly) Troy L. The OS is still on the “D:” drive 2. Run "dir /s setupact.*" from the root of the drive to search for the files. You may also need to look in the panther directory, which you can also find by using the search command. Other models look to have no issues, but this one model (straight out of the box) just hangs on that message. Yesterday after 6 hours of being on that screen I gave up. After I shut down the machine, and pxe booted back into WinPE I used cmtrace to get to the smsts.log still on the c drive. I do see that it downloaded the configuration manager client package, and that it completed the action (Setup Windows and ConfigMgr) Then it looks like it reboots and that is all. No errors or anything. Not sure if anyone else has run into this before. Our systems are installing Win7 x64. Before the upgrade, we had no issues with these models.
