It did wreck. That is discussed in the pdf that the photos are drawn from. I am not sure if the frame is homebrew or not, but it looks they used GS500 wheels on it. Katana wheels have dual front rotors. The front fork tubes could be GSX-R or others and the rear shock is definitely race quality. The front tire is very thin compared to a stock GS tire. Probably low rolling resistance and definitely slick. This bike seems to be a school team project. The "HTL" on the shirts is the initial for the school. The "L" standing for "technical achievement center." They are from Austria for sure. The article goes on to discuss the wreck and teh fact that the Italians won the day.
