You may try Powercheq battery monitors found here: http://www.evsource.com/tls_powercheq.php . I know they are pricey, but they may save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

What voltage and current does the K&W charger finish at? Anything above around 2.45 volts per cell (depending on temperature) will cause gassing at any time during charging. If the charger current tapers off at or around this voltage than I would bet your batteries are being fully charged just fine.
