OK I've had a chance to look them both over now. One is actually a gas powered pocket bike with no engine. The other one is a little bigger but more a less a pocket bike, although more of a cruiser style. This one seem like it will be easy to get going. I tested the motor and it works, although I have not had a chance to try out the controller yet. It has a motor just like this http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=10-2301-B.

I may grab one of these motors and a small scooter controller and electrify the other one as well.

So I picked up the two frames this morning. Turns out they are scooters, but they are pretty cool and will be lots of fun for the kids, so I am in no way disappointed. One seems fairly complete with a motor and a controller (36V 40amp), but who knows if it works. The other is SANS motor and controller. After I get them up and running I'll snap some photos.

Sit down type scooters, Vespa style or stand up Pep Boys Chinese scooters? I hope it's the latter so I don't get jealous.
