Hi Paul, First, I agree with Damon that a CPU fan
may not be much cooling, but I guess any extra cooling helps. As far as directions, it is generally
desired to have the fan blow air over the armature, then the commutator. The comm
is more sensitive to dirt and debris. Getting dirt blown right at the comm
while operating can potential scar the comm and damage it if dirt gets under
the brushes. A second thought is that the brushed
typically get to be the hottest spot on the motor. The direct cooling of the
brushes will really help. It’s not a cut-n-dry answer, but
hope it helps. Shawn From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of paul wiley For those of us using the Etek motor.....Which direction should the
forced air cooling be routed? Towards the brushes or pulled thru the motor
first, across the brush end? I have a 4 inch cpu fan on it now, with a 6.5 inch ready in the box
(with a shroud.) Any thoughts? Thanks Paul Yahoo!
