Anyway, I picked up another chassis and am planning bike build number 2. I am looking at using the AC drive from High Performance Golf Carts, but can't decide on batteries. I would really like to go with something other than lead in the 72v rannge but still haven't found much with off the shelf BMS. Anyone have any good results playing with other than lead yet? I know Dameon is running flooded NiCad, but there isn't much weight advantage there which I would like to find.

I hear ya man. Just last year I picked one up for $250 and sold it a few months latter for $330 and felt pretty good about it. Now that I have a use for an Etek I am looking at shelling out over $500. Man am I kicking myself. They are supossed to retutn to production in less than a year though, so we are probably near the price peak now. Good time to sell 'em if ya got em I guess.
I had my bike tip off the lift it was on in the garage a couple days. Acid everywhere, man was I wishing I had gone with sealed batteries at that moment. Luckily the bodywork was out at the paint shop so I just need to touch-up the frame paint and refill the lost fluid.
