What is the ultimate goal? Is it to have more HP for weight, or more low end? It seems hard to do because you will be adding two large motors, a controller, and batteries.

Is the goal to save gas? The alternator will not be 100% efficient, and neither will the motor. If you consider each at 85% efficient, than this means 72% of the output engine power is being used to drive the wheel, and that doesn't even take into account battery inefficiency. Ofcourse the engine will probably run more efficiently at costant speed/load.

Why not just quick change the batteries for a fast "charge"? You can also heat the batteries up before doing a run to get more energy. Maybe you could use an electric blanket for a few hours. I may be wrong but I don't think you can do damage to Odyssey batteries until you melt the plastic case.
