Dang it looks like some of the archived info is gone from the site and evn-cup.at So it looks like some of the older specs are not posted anymore.
Remember under FIA/FIM rules, the categories are divided by weight [below or above 150kg,330lbs]. So for the smaller category [below 150kg] it would make sense to use a lighter frame which is fairly common in italy. Above 150kg, you notice the larger sized bike. BTW before getting a drivers license for a car, italians have to spend years on a small cc scooter before graduating to either a larger cc and/or eventually car. Races are divided into 2 heat races with a minimum of 20km(12.4 miles) but the tracks vary due to location. >From what I remember reading and watching the vids, speed in 2000 under the evn-cup was slow about 30-45 mph. In fact, they had grouped lighter bikes and recumbents into the race as an all-in-one. When it went to a FIA sactioned event (2001?), betti luciano and others really increased the speed to the max that manuverability allowed as well as their battieries 60-70mph. In addition, I believe the track distances have been increasing but I cant confirm it at this time. I was trying to find the route and course from some fo the organizers to give a good answer. Is it the 150+mph of superbikes? Not yet. Now about getting enough kwh for racing, in heats on the motards (cant remember if it was an AMA race), they have been holding their own, but no wins. I had a quote from a forum that I had posted on the visforvoltage.com (before the hack) after a 2004 race inwhich a rider couldnt catch an electrimoto until the final lap "luckily it slowed down from the batteries". And that wasnt lithium but AGM. Also, electricross had an admirable race last year with one of their riders, but a shock or an axel broke. Viewing these instances, I really think heats are the best head-to-head for the electric motards to prove themselves. And prove killowatts are coming. --- john fisher wrote: > so Lyle those are 125s converted to batt power? > cool. > Do you have any specs, length of race speeds, lap > times compared to gas etc? > > I really didn't think it was possible to get enough > KWh to do a sprint race... > > John Fisher > > lyle sloan wrote: > > Thank you, Elettroracing.it They just posted the > > blow-by-blow results of the first (CAT IV) race of > the > > season.
