i have a 45 min [20 mile] commute to work with speeds
from 25 to 45 mph and the fan has helped keep the
motor cool, especially when stopped at a light
i use a 150ma 12 volt fan from a broken computer
I wouldn't have thought such a small fan would help. That's good
news. I'm looking at this one for my etek:
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/CF-302/search/12VDC_120MM_COOLING_FAN_.html
For the archives: Sunon # KD1212PMBX-6A. 12Vdc, 7.6W cooling fan.
3150 RPM. 120 CFM. 46.5 dBA. 119mm x 119mm x 39mm. Two 6" leads
prepped with 2-pin female connector (0.10" centers). UL, CE. $4.25
I'm reading up a thermistors for speed control.
I got back from a ride the other day and zapped my etek with an IR
thermometer. It read 130F. I don't know how hot is too hot but 130
is too hot to touch. I that that's too hot.
