Axial fans can shift a fair amount of air, but not against back pressure. If your ducting, or path throgh the motor puts much resistance in the way of the air, then you won't get the airflow you expect. A radial (centrifugal or 'squirrel cage') fan will work much better.

I'm going to make a chart with cute little boxes for voltages and temps. Let me know and I'll shoot you a PDF of it.

Anybody play with the throttle ramps I was thinking the Alltrax supports, have results?

I plan to over the next week. Right now my Alltrax throttle ramp looks more like a wall than a ramp. That might have something to do with the hot Etek...

I am torn, 1 or 2 small low current 12v fans, or some larger 12v fan. Ducting is key. Still noodling that one, clearance between motor and frame and power leads... don't want to cobble it together.

Part of the reason that I like the fan assembly from All Electronics is that it's basically eight fans so it might be possible to experiment with turning on or off different fans in different combinations.

Here's a link to it:

I was looking at the wiring diagram in the factory service manual for my bike tonight and it dawned on me that I could probably use the factory fan plug and sensor. I just need to find where in the manual it says at what temp the fan is supposed to kick in and then see if it can be changed some how.
