I think this is a good approach. Your performance is likely to be around that of a 250 cc bike. Some states regulate what can operate on limited-access highways based on engine size, others on hp. The hp limitation is probably 15 hp, size 125 cc. Your setup with 72 V and a Zilla Z1k gives you a theoretical 96 hp. In reality the determining factor is probably the batteries. I'll take a wild guess and say they'll sag to 6 V each at 800 A, giving 38 hp (if you let them). The motor rating of 13 hp has no relationship at all to the way ICE engines are rated. Never mention it again to the paper-pushers. :^) By the way, I'm a little concerned about how low and wide your batteries are. If you're in a turn and hit a dip, touching the battery rack down will likely lever your tires off the pavement pretty decisively. Be sure you find its limits gradually. Chris
