Noticed the front fork is just a pricey downhill mountain biking
fork, no doubt helping with the crazy low weight. Not sure how I'd
feel using that fork at 60mph though.

I expect the front fork is OK for the rated 50 mph top speed.
Those mountain bike guys thrash their gear pretty hard.
I'd be more concerned about the size of the disk brakes but again it
looks like mountain bike stuff and I know they do some pretty steep
descents.
I'd love something like this for commuting (as the web site mentions)
but I'd need lights and signals and a place to put the plate.
Getting certified to be road registered is probably a major hurdle for
a small manufacturer, I expect they'll be a lot of these in the dirt
before they come out with a street version.
I wonder if they'd sell the power train?
That's the way I'd like to buy lithium batteries, two black boxes, one
connects to the controller, one plugs into the wall socket.
All the battery management is handled internally just like my laptop.
