Hi everyone,

A very early announcement for an event still a few months away. Anyway, ...
for you early planners to mark your calendars.

Palm Beach Community College Boca Raton Campus (co-located on the FAU Boca
Campus) is having a "Focus the Nation" global warming awareness event on
Thursday, January 31 for which they are seeking EVs to be exhibited. I have
let the event organizers know that that is just a few days after our biggest
event of the year, Battery Beach Burnout, which our members put a tremendous
amount of effort and energy into preparing for and competing in, so it might
be difficult to get our members to come out for this event at PBCC Boca,
simply because most of our members will be recovering from BBB and also
because this event at PBCC Boca is on a weekday, as opposed to a weekend,
which is much easier for our members to attend. But I committed to them
that at least *I* will make it and bring one of my EVs. If anyone else
thinks they might be up for bringing their EV to this event just a few days
after BBB, let me know. I'll post a reminder a week prior to the event.

And now for another REEEEEALY early announcement ... as those of you who
attended the Keys GLEE Expo on March 31, 2007 may remember, the event
organizers had told us that the next GLEE Expo is scheduled for 2009, as it
is a biannual event. Well, the Keys GLEE organization has recently changed
that and decided to now make it an annual event ... (in order to pack in as
many annual events as possible before they're under water, I would guess;
... hey, don't laugh, we're next, with the waves lapping up on our doorsteps
not too long after them down there in the Keys; ... hhhhmmm, that beachfront
property I always dreamed of but could never afford; ... be careful what you
wish for because you just might get it! :-). So there will be a GLEE Expo
in 2008, but instead of being in late March, it will be in May this coming
year. Wow, talk about hot! March 31 was hot enough down there, but May is
going to be just brutal. (I gotta get one of those funky safari hats Cliff
smartly wears.) I wish they could have kept the event in March, or even
moved it up to February, which would have been even better. But anyway, May
it *is* for the coming year ... specifically, May 9-11, again in Marathon
(http://www.keysglee.com/html/08_expo/2008expo.htm).
