Ditto and second that on what a great event it was and many thanks to Shawn, Matt, Lowell, Bob, their respective wives, and everyone who helped to make it such an excellent event!
As long as we're on the subject of politics (from the previous post below), in addition to also seconding the point that I myself too had some good discussions about Ron Paul at the event, I would also like to mention that we had a Congressional candidate at the event, Paul Renneisen, who actually formally announced his candidacy and kicked off his campaign at the event. Paul is an American Airlines captain who lives in Ft. Lauderdale, flies out of Miami Airport, and drives a Toyota RAV4-EV as his primary transportation and daily commuter. Captain Renneisen has managed to get his RAV4-EV designated as the official electric car of Miami International Airport and is working on getting us a charging station there. He is running in the August 2008 Democratic primary race for Florida's 22nd Congressional District, encompassing most of Broward and Palm Beach Counties, against incumbent Democratic Congressman Ron Klein. If elected, Paul would be the first ever US Congressman who drives an electric vehicle. I am not going to violate the long-respected apolitical/non-political tradition of civil EV discussion nor offend anyone's intelligence or sensibilities here by urging anyone to vote one way or another for any particular candidate, but as Glenn did in his post below regarding Ron Paul's presidential candidacy, I would just like to call your attention to EV driver Paul Renneisen's Congressional candidacy and, if you live in either Broward or Palm Beach County, ask that you give him a look and check out his campaign website at: http://www.renneisen2008.com/ If you have any interest in discussing Paul Renneisen's candidacy or political issues thereabouts, you can communicate with Paul directly (privately, off-list please) at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks & best regards, Charles Whalen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn Kellis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, January 27, 2008 2:49 PM Subject: [FLEAA] Great time at BBB! Hi Folks, Just wanted to say what a great time I had at the BBB, Thanks to Shawn, his wife and everyone who made it possible and the great success it was! Thanks for the great effort! Hope to see you all at the club meeting in Feb. Besides talking about electric vehicles and clean energy at the meet I had some good conversations with a lot of folks about Ron Paul. I won't flood the list with political posts, but if you are interested in Dr. Paul's position on energy please check out his energy policy statement at: <http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/energy/> The primary is Tuesday, cast your vote! Best regards, Glenn Kellis _______________________________________________ Florida EAA mailing list [email protected] http://www.floridaeaa.org
