Hi Katie, I would say keep it as simple as possible and as complicated as necessary. My eBox has one drive gear as does the Tesla. More gears mean more potential problems, and the need for a clutch. My EV is geared more for range, but will do 0 to 60 in 7 seconds. The Tesla is gear a bit more towards speed.
The tire pressure check sounds like a good idea. It's a great way to get into a good habit. I check my tire's pressure regularly, once a week is probably a good idea. Low tire pressure is a good indicator of a potential problem; you never know when you may pick up a nail. The best tire gauges have a dial, a flexible extension, and a valve to bleed off the excess pressure.
