Dustin says all emails were collected by legitimate registrations to the two
sites they run. He can even prove it with IP addresses used by people to
sign-up.

I know personally I use the same email address for this list and also my
sharepointblogs.com account, so I would still have received the emails because
I opted-in when registering on sharepointblogs.com, so the explanation provided
seems correct to me....

I guess we can end this here J if anyone still believes the story is not right,
I guess you can email Dustin directly to request your IP used for registration
for further clarification.

He is right when he states that he has done a great service to the community
with his sites though, we have all benefitted greatly from sharepointblogs.com
(I know I have), it's such a great resource for the SharePoint community.

Regards,

Sezai.

It was sent to all users of SharePoint Blogs/University who haven't previously
unsubscribed from any of our lists. And a simple click of the link in the
message will take the recipient off *all* lists. We've done it this way for
many years.

Any user suggesting that their e-mail was never used on one or both of those
two sites (blogs/university) to create an account is mistaken, and I will be
happy to provide the IP address used to join to confirm for them.

I'm not a member of your DL, so I don't know if Sezai will have to forward my
mail (please do so, Sezai, if my message isn't posted to the DL).

If anyone has any concerns, I'd hope they would contact me directly to discuss,
and not immediately jump to the wrong conclusion in regards to me or my company
:(. Not after all that I personally do to support the global SharePoint
community, and after all our sites have helped their users.

Looks like we all got this !

I would be happy to do a training course in the US, if SharePoint Experts paid
for my flight and accommodation....

What's the deal with this spam Dustin? You've upset a lot of people here
down-under.

People are even using foul language L

Has anyone else been getting these? They're direct-sent, not
delivered to the list address.

Has someone nabbed emails off of this (or some other) list? This is
the ONLY list related to sharepoint that I've used with my personal
email address (tech-ed/etc I use my Dimension Data email address)...
