Hey all

Thanks for the tips. I came in this morning and it was working the way
it should be. I'm thinking Clayton hit the nail on the head with the
profile database - that's the only thing I never really thought about,
and therefore didn't force an import.

Thanks again

Hi Nigel,

You can audience target web parts directly to AD groups in the "target
audience" setting of the web part. You don't have to create an audience
and compile.

However you need to configure a user profile import (works on full
import but I am not sure on incremental) before you can see the AD group
(even though it doesn't show up in the view profiles section) in the
"target audience" section of the web part.

I am thinking this is also your problem with your Audience based on an
AD group. You will need to configure a user profile import.

Let us know how you go.

cheers

Clayton James

No luck unfortunately.

I installed the hotfix on our dev server, and still have the same
problem.

I've gone so far as creating a new audience with the same AD group in,
and it also populates with the removed users. I'm assuming it caches
this somewhere, and forcing a recompile doesn't clear the cache.

It seems to be that behaviour

Try to install SP1 post-fixes for this

Subject: [OzMOSS] MOSS audiences

Morning all,

I have a confusing problem with audiences this morning, that I'm sure
will have a pretty basic answer, even if it eludes me.

I have a web part on the front page of the intranet site, that uses an
audience to target it to a select few employees. The audience is set to
include users who satisfy all the rules, and the only rule is the user
must be a member of a specific AD group.

This all works fine, until I remove a user from the AD group. I can
recompile the audience as often as I want, and yet he remains a member
(when checking view membership). I can delete the rule and recompile
(gives me 0 members), read the rule and recompile, and the removed user
is still there.

I've double and triple checked that he is no longer in the AD group, and
yet he remains in the audience.

Any suggestions?
