This really feels like a silly question but here I go anyway. Someone has told me that they are upgrading their sharepoint database server from a 32bit to 64bit server. They have a two tier WSS deployment with one database server, and everything else on one WFE server. They believe that they also have to upgrade their WFE server to 64bit as well. I don't think this is necessarily true and would appreciate a second opinion. I think that the WFE server should be able to continue working without being upgraded to a 64bit server.
Any thoughts anyone?
