We raised a service call with Microsoft Premiere Support about this and
was told it was a known bug - dont think there has been any resolution
as of yet.  If it is a real problem for you only thing I could suggest
is to implement your own workflows instead of the ootb ones

There is a Mail Filtering server as well as a Mail server involved in
this process, all of which we do not have direct access to, so I can not
verify the locale of either.

That said, I understand the line of thinking, but I don't think the Mail
server is the cause, because the dates found in the mail headers are all
formatted correctly.  The problem is the dates found in the content of
the e-mails and tasks within sharepoint.  E.g. if you are assigned a
task, the following e-mail is generated

Hi OzMOSS

I have a problem with the MOSS 2007 out of the box workflow emails, the
server and the MOSS 2007 regional settings are in AUS format
(DD/MM/YYYY), however within the workflow e-mails generated, the dates
are in US format (MM/DD/YYYY).

This issue is obvious when the day is over 12.  Otherwise it is very
difficult to realize that there is a problem, which is causing a lot of
confusion for the end users.

Has anyone seen this issue before (and have a fix / workaround), or have
I done something wrong?

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
