This is the problem with most MS certs. I'd much prefer that they moved to Cisco style exams: -A short written exam to weed out people who know NOTHING -4-6 hours to set up XYZ given a set of requirements (architect a farm, setup BDC to pull data from a basic webapp, config search with a few scopes, etc) -Grading by a human examination of results
for more advanced exams you'd have to come in a second day after they purposefully break something (change permissions ona file share and tell you "search broke" and the like)...
