First of all, I´m aware that this is a cross-post of my Blog (http://manicprogrammer.com/cs/blogs/heynemann/archive/2006/09/20/122.aspx ), but since many, many people here don´t read my blog (someone does? hehehe) I would like to share this with a lot of really SMART guys you are, sou you can help me out. Having said that, the cross-post:

I´m really really proud to release iteration one in such a small timeframe. I just worked in the project for two days of spare time (about 8hrs or so) and accomplished a lot in the areas of learning the technology, implementing the iteration requirements, setting up Continuous Integration support for the CodePlex project, setting up SandCastle documentation builds and achieving a really cool Code Coverage stat (I´ll leave it as a surprise, since I´ll publish stats later).

Iteration 1 ships with a CreateWorkItem activity for Windows Workflow Foundation that upon execution will create a workitem in the specified team server with the specified title and description.

I´m completely aware that it´s not much in terms of code, but each project needs momentum and I believe I got it now, since my only tasks from now on are developing the remaining features (almost no administrative tasks left woof!).

Still I got no applications for the project team. I´m attributing that to the fact that it´s still a really new project and the technology it involves is pretty unknown to many.

Hopefully we´ll get more applications, but now I want FEEDBACK, FEEDBACK, FEEDBACK! Just go on, create a Hello World Workflow that uses the Create Workitem activity (you may even create a Hello World WorkItem, lol), and report back any suggestions, problems, etc.

You can check the release here Release Iteration 1 Beta, but as I always recommend, check the wiki since there´s a lot more information there at Project Bhal Wiki.

I´ll be posting tomorrow a comprehensive post (maybe two) about the following topics that I found interesting in this iteration:

  1. The TFS code to connect and create a workitem
  2. The process of creating the Custom Activity
  3. Continuous Integration with CodePlex
  4. Creating a viable solution for using SandCastle as of it´s current version.

I´m waiting for your comments...
