Hi Robert, It is a bit heavy handed, but you can modify the process
template so that it allows you to control those values up front. Once you have
the data imported you just sent the process template back to the way it was. I’d
recommend creating a test Team Project to try it on first, and use the Process
Template Editor to save the current work item type definitions, and modify them: http://www.imaginets.com/Default.aspx?tabid=133 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Manger Hi
Guys, We
(no, not a royal plural) are having an issue around initial data migration from
our current Problem tracking system to TFS. We are trying to:
The
issues lie in the fact that due to TFS validation we can not set certain fields
to what we want them to by, ie: “Created by” and “Created
Date” are not necessarily the person publishing the spreadsheet and
now. In trying to import our data these fields are either being validated
against and blocked or overwritten by TFS. Is
there any way we can over-ride the values TFS is giving these values?
Fields in question are: -
Created
By -
Created
Date -
Resolved
Date -
Closed
Date …and
possibly more. Any
suggestions? Rob
