Hi Bevan, Have you tried the obvious step of restarting of the TFS + Email servers ? I'm assuming that the email server is in the same rack/network as the TFS server? It's not external?
To further debug the issue, this blog post should help you enable tracing and see what is actually happening. http://blogs.msdn.com/psheill/archive/2005/11/28/497662.aspx If you need to change the mailserver settings, here's the official docco on how to do that: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms400808(VS.80).aspx You could also try logging on to the TFS server, then opening a command prompt and trying "telnet mailserver 25" to confirm that there are no firewalls getting in the way. Let us know how you go. Since last week none of the event notification emails for build completion or other events subscribed to via the bissubscribe.exe tool are being sent. We have not made any changes to the server or mail configuration and they had been working perfectly up to this point. I found the following warning in the event log that shows a connection issue with the email server, but I have tested the server using a simple SMTP client app ad it can connect and send emails ok. Has anyone had this issue or can suggest a possible solution or at least somewhere to start looking?
