"We've updated the MSSCCI provider (that enables TFS access from VS 2003, VS
2002, VS 6 and a host of other IDEs) to use the TFS 2008 object model. In the
process we've fixed as many bugs that have been reported as we could. The
updated MSSCCI provider will be available in Mid-Dec."

I've got the same book and it's wrong, at least if we're talking VS2003 to
TFS2005, there is a provider you can install and use, it's a bit limited but it
kind of works. Granted I've only played around with it and not actually used in
a production scenario.

In answer to question 5:
In the Wrox Professional Team Foundation Server book I received yesterday it
states that they have no knowledge of a plugin for either VS2002 or VS2003.
That is not to say there is not one (VB6 has one..) (page 20).

Can I also add the questions:

5) Are there any issues with using VS.Net 2003 and VS.Net 2005 with TFS 2008?
6) Are there any issues with using VS.Net 2008 with TFS 2005?

Would be good to know which one to update first, VS.Net or TFS...

Cheers
David

Subject: [OzTFS] A few VS2008 and TFS 2008 questions.
Heya Folks,

yep - we all know that VS2008 has gone gold. We're dl'ing as i type, using
our MSDN subscription. On the MSDN dl page i'm sure i saw TFS 2008 ?? I can't
remember if this was a beta, though.

   1) Can someone confirm if TFS has also gone RTM?
   2) With VS2008 Out Of the Box + TFS 2005, does the VS developer need to
install the Team Foundation Explorer? Is this dependant upon the version of
VS2008 they have? Eg. if i download the express or profressional trial, i need
to install the TFE .. but if i install our MSDN Team Suit Developer edition,
the TFE is already built in? If it's build in, will it work with TFS 2005 or
only '08?
   3) Are there any charts that explain the difference between express,
profressional and the team suit editions?
   4) If TFS 2008 is not RTM, will it be coming soon?

Thanks kindly folks :)

-J-
