Thanks for the feedback Rick however I suspect that is the problem. My solution is compiling ok, however I have found that if I unload all my test projects and them re-load them in one at a time after about half of the test projects have been loaded back (and I have the Test View Window open) I get the crash again (The error report that I get seems to report to an OutOfMemoryException in System.Drawing ).
I am unsure as to why the error report that I am receiving has this exception because the project that I was reloading when the crash occurred did not reference System.Drawing. It appears to get itself into a loop, consumes a lot of memory and then finally crashes. Check the source files for any compilation problems - hard to do I know when you can't load the project!! In my case it was as simple as leaving a trailing " off. My problem only appeared to happen in attributes defined at the class level, the compiler handling errors elsewhere. I'm not sure if this is the problem that you're experiencing, but it might be worth a look. However I am having a problem with memory consumption, CPU usage and IDE stability. In one of our solutions we have approximately 3000 unit tests across 10 Test Projects, when I load the solution and open the Test View window CPU usage for the IDE process goes to about 75% and memory usage ~750Mb ( Still about 1GB free), after about 1 minute the IDE crashes. Has anybody had a similar experience or know where I could begin to start looking to find a solution to this problem?
