Your best option would be to create a reporting services report that uses the
TfsActivityLogging database as a datastore. Almost every command that TFS
executes is logged into the database.

The query would be something like:
SELECT * FROM tbl_Commands WITH (NOLOCK) WHERE IdentityName LIKE 'DOMAIN\blah%'
AND ( Command = 'Get' OR Command = 'UpdateLocalVersion' OR Command = 'Download )

or something similar.

Subject: [OzTFS] Question for the Group: Monitoring Workspace Downloads

All,

I have a requirement to monitor and provide alerts for our TFS system. I know
how to send alerts, but I’m a little vague on how to interrogate the system for
reports of download activity. The idea is to monitor and alert managers when a
particular employee or group of employees downloads to create and/or update a
workspace. Is there a “workspace monitoring” tool that I’ve missed in the docu?

I have considered using SQL Server Reporting services, but wonder if this is a
good way to go (??).

Any ideas, thoughts, pointers to documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
