Thanks for the great suggestions Bill.  I honestly do not think the  
beginning ESOL learners should be in my classroom, generally they are not.   
But, I 
never turn away a kid.  That is why I teach 6 classes and have over  180 
students.  I want to reach these kids and give them a good  beginning.  Our 
ESOL dept 
is closed right now because they are busy with  mandatory testing.  That does 
not help me in the slightest.   Thankfully, I have another student in each 
class that speaks their language, so  one of them half understands and can 
translate.  I am sure I will learn as  much as they do this year.  :)  My other 
students are entranced with  the new cultures entering our classroom.  It 
should 
be quite a year.   :)
