This activity comes from the Virtual Library--I found it mentioned in an e-newsletter I get weekly. I'm going to try it with my 8th grade English and 7th grade AVID kids. You might find it useful if you work with research projects in which kids need to balance primary and secondary sources.
PRACTICE RANKING SOURCES: http://mciu.org/%7Espjvweb/ranking.html http://mciu.org/%7Espjvweb/rankingms.html In a practice worksheet for high school student research papers, a possible search results page is listed. Stu- dents must rank the results by their value to their own papers, giving reasons for their chosen ratings. Use the 2nd link above for the same type of exercise, but this one geared specifically to middle school. (7-12) Beverly =================="We can't take any credit for our talents.
