Hi! So I'd inexplicably forgotten one of my school's cool traditions, the "golden ticket" poetry contest. A variety of poems, one per day, are printed on goldenrod-coloured paper and hidden around the school. Whoever finds each poem has to 1. type it into our email system to post for all to share 2. show it to an English Department teacher and receive a Wonka bar 3. write their name and where they found it and tack it to the bulletin board
I also want to reiterate how very cool the online Poetry Slam is. Since I did a poor job of announcing it with sufficient advance notice this year (a mistake I am not likely to repeat), there are still a few openings. The homepage with links to registration and past Slams is at: http://www.literacyworkshop.org/poetryslam/poetryslam.htm Thanks! Take care, Bill Ivey Stoneleigh-Burnham School _______________________________________________ The Literacy Workshop ListServ http://www.literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/lit_literacyworkshop.org.
