Dave Workman is the coordinator and is an excellent source of information. RtI usually focuses on reading intervention for K-2 but may also involve math. We are in our first year. Our Title, Sp.Ed. and classroom teachers and aides work together to teach, identify low functioning students, and remediate students. It strives to catch children early, give them intensive instruction (some 90 min a day) and hopefully catch them up. If dropping their minutes per day leads to "failure to thrive" again, then we have a good idea of those that need placement/long term intensive environments instead of finding these kids in 2nd or 3rd grade.
