As my 8th graders move on to the high school I like to
give them something valuable to remember this
important time in their lives. I always write a
personal letter. I rarely use quotes because I feel my
own words mean more. However, this year I want to
include a book that teaches about life as well as
help them along their journey into adulthood. I wonder
if you have any suggestions. In the past I have given
Lois Lowry books such as Gathering Blue and The
Messenger. Even a picture book would be awesome! This
group has read almost all of my favorite books
already! By the way, I only have 6 kids, and never
more than 11, going to the high school this year.
Otherwise this would not be possible! However, I bet a
personalized "recommended by you" book list would be a
nice way to send off larger classes.
