Nicely done May. I love your ideas. My mentor text is *The Book Thief*. It is one of the best-written books I have ever read. I use it to stir my students. Zusak uses words in such a way that the reader cannot help but feel each one. The words are tangible like a character in themselves; they can sit heavy on your chest, tickle your ears, fill your eyes, crack a smile, spill down your front and break your heart. I am reading it aloud next year. I figure it will take most of the year.
