I'm in San Diego and as far as I know there are no restrictions on students
bringing homemade food to school I have been teaching 20 years and have had
cultural fairs with food, birthday cup cakes, and more. I guess you could turn
it around and wonder just how long the 'store bought' food has been sitting on
the shelf and just what chemicals and perservatives are used to keep it on the
shelf . . What we do have in our district is a ban on sodas during school
hours. Yet the students bring in their High Energy drinks in their lunches or
back packs and drink them on their way to the next class. Hmmmm . . . I'm
going to do the Cookie Lesson for the first week of school and then have them
do the Cookie Ad thing for the end of the school and that's the way the cookie
crumbles. How cheesy was that! :-)
